Questions

Common questions about digital assets.

Does Nashional manage Bitcoin directly?
We advise on how digital assets fit within your overall plan, including allocation, custody options and taxes. How and where the assets are held depends on the option you choose, such as a qualified custodian or an exchange-traded product.
How are digital assets taxed?
The IRS treats digital assets as property. Selling, exchanging or spending them can create a capital gain or loss, and holding period determines whether the gain is short- or long-term.
Can a large crypto gain go into an Opportunity Zone fund?
Yes. A capital gain from selling digital assets can generally be reinvested in a Qualified Opportunity Fund within 180 days to defer it.

Have a large digital asset gain?

We can show how it fits your plan and what your options are before you sell.
